New Year festival turned into protest

Armed Soldiers, injured people were in the streets of Din Daeng at Bangkok on the Songkran New Year Day festival. Anti-government protesters with red shorts surrounded the resort town of Pattaya, which is the venue for 16 nation’s summit in Thailand. The protesters claimed that the Government is not elected by the people and they wanted the government to get out. A 61 year old man said that there was a complete military dictatorship in 1992 but now there is no absolute rule. The protesters showed their opposition by enforcing the country to cancel the summit meeting. This New Year festival began with water fights, guns and petrol bombs in the streets of the Bangkok. The armed fight lasted for hours and more than 74 people injured with wounds.
